The itching returned because Momsafe (mometasone) is a strong steroid that suppresses inflammation and itching but does not cure the underlying cause, such as chronic eczema, contact dermatitis, or a fungal infection. Once the cream was stopped and triggers returned, the itching recurred. I strongly advise against reusing Momsafe without medical supervision. If the underlying cause is a fungal infection, steroids can actually make it worse. Please keep the area clean and moisturised, and consult a doctor or dermatologist. They can properly diagnose the condition and prescribe the correct treatment, which may be an antifungal, a steroid, or a combination cream.
