I had angioplasty and have been taking Lipicure 20, Losacar 50, Ecosprin 75, and Prolomet 12.5 regularly since 2001. Now I have a severe cough and cold. Is it safe to take Moxiforce 625 twice daily, as an antihistamine medicine, which caused vomiting and dizziness?
Severe cough and cold after angioplasty should be treated carefully because some cold medicines and antibiotics can interact with heart medicines or worsen dizziness and blood pressure control. Vomiting and dizziness after taking an antihistamine may happen because some allergy medicines can cause drowsiness, low blood pressure, stomach irritation, or imbalance, especially in people already taking heart medicines such as Prolomet and Losacar. Moxiforce 625 is an antibiotic combination, but antibiotics are not always needed for common viral cold and cough. Taking unnecessary antibiotics may increase stomach upset, loose motions, or medicine-related side effects. Since you have already developed vomiting and dizziness, it is better to be cautious before continuing additional medicines without review. Warm fluids, steam inhalation, rest, hydration, and simple fever-relief medicines may help if the infection is mild and viral. Chest pain, breathlessness, persistent fever, severe weakness, irregular heartbeat, or worsening dizziness can suggest the illness or medicines are affecting the body more significantly and may need proper medical review and medication adjustment.
