My 6-month-old baby suddenly developed a cough and chest congestion. I have already given him Mucolite drops, but he is still crying a lot. What medicine should I give him now?

Please do not give any more medication without consulting a paediatrician. Persistent crying in a 6-month-old with chest congestion can indicate distress, difficulty breathing, or pain. Do not self-medicate with additional cough or cold medicines, as they can be unsafe for infants. Monitor him closely for warning signs: rapid breathing, chest pulling inward (retractions), grunting, bluish lips, or refusal to feed. If you notice any of these, go to the nearest emergency room immediately. For temporary relief, you can use saline nasal drops to clear his nose and keep him in an upright position. Please have him evaluated by a doctor right away.
