In a 9‑year‑old child, occasional tingling or ‘shocking’ sensations with itching in the legs or feet are most often due to minor nerve irritation, muscle fatigue, growth‑related changes, dry skin or allergies, vitamin deficiencies (especially B vitamins), prolonged sitting, or tight footwear. These causes are usually harmless and temporary. However, if the sensations become frequent, painful, occur at night, or are associated with weakness, numbness, swelling, skin rash, or difficulty walking, they may point to a nerve, nutritional, or neurological problem. In such cases, the child should be evaluated by a paediatrician to determine the exact cause rather than assuming it is normal.
