You should not take any blood pressure medication immediately. A temporary spike of 160/100 is a normal physical response to the stress and anxiety of a heavy nosebleed. Taking blood pressure drugs now could cause a dangerous drop in pressure once you calm down. For the nosebleed itself, you can use an over-the-counter nasal decongestant spray like oxymetazoline to help constrict blood vessels and stop bleeding. If bleeding is active, sit upright, lean forward, and pinch the soft part of your nose for 10-15 minutes. Please monitor your blood pressure at rest. If it remains high or nosebleeds recur, see a doctor.
