To prevent nosebleeds, the main goal is to keep your nasal passages moist. I recommend using over-the-counter saline nasal sprays or gels (sodium chloride) several times a day. Applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly gently inside your nostrils, especially before bed, also helps. If you use prescription corticosteroid sprays for allergies, be sure to point the nozzle outward, away from the middle wall (septum) of your nose to avoid irritation.
