I am experiencing shifting pain on the right side of my body, from my shoulder down to my knee. My doctor prescribed Neurocare (mecobalamin, folic acid and pregabalin), but I am still not getting any relief from the pain; should I get a blood calcium test done?
Neurocare is prescribed for neuropathic (nerve) pain, which can take several weeks to show full effect. Shifting pain from your shoulder to your knee may indicate nerve compression or referred pain. While a blood calcium test is not typically the primary test for this type of pain, calcium and vitamin D3 levels do play a role in nerve and muscle health. Rather than self-testing, please consult your doctor. They can evaluate if your dosage needs adjustment, check for specific deficiencies, or recommend imaging (like an MRI of your spine) to identify the root cause. Please do not alter your medication without medical guidance.
