Novale Scalp Lotion and Novale-CT Scalp Lotion are not the same product. Both contain ketoconazole (an antifungal agent), but Novale-CT also contains coal tar (a keratolytic agent). Novale Scalp Lotion is mainly used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and pityriasis. Novale-CT Scalp Lotion is primarily used for dandruff and to control seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp. The addition of coal tar in Novale CT helps reduce scalp scaling, flaking, and itching. Therefore, they differ in composition and are used for slightly different clinical purposes.
