To apply Ocupol DX eye ointment safely, follow these steps: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Tilt your head back, look upward, and gently pull down your lower eyelid to form a small pocket. Hold the tube close to your eye, ensuring the tip does not touch your eye, eyelid, or hands to avoid contamination. Squeeze a thin ribbon (about half an inch) of the ointment into the pocket. Close your eyes gently for 1 to 2 minutes to let the medicine spread. Your vision may blur temporarily, which is normal. Avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears completely.
