I have been diagnosed with herpes. The blisters are present on the left side of my face, including the eye, forehead, and scalp. I am currently taking Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, and Aciclovir 400 mg. However, I have been experiencing severe headaches continuously for the past two days. Could you please advise on the best way to manage the headache and the precautions I should take?
Severe headache with herpes affecting the eye and face may indicate complications such as herpes zoster ophthalmicus. Continue taking Aciclovir (an antiviral) as prescribed. For headache relief, Paracetamol (a pain reliever) is preferred. Avoid excessive use of Ibuprofen (an NSAID) unless advised by your doctor. Seek urgent medical attention immediately if you experience eye pain, vision changes, fever, or neurological symptoms. Keep the affected area clean, avoid scratching, and practice good hand hygiene to prevent transmission.
