What are the side effects of Okamet 500 Tablet?
Okamet 500 Tablet contains metformin, which is commonly used to control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. It can cause some side effects, especially when treatment is started or the dose is increased. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, low blood sugar, stomach pain, bloating, gas, and loss of appetite. These effects are often mild and may improve as your body gets used to the medicine. Taking the tablet with or after food can help reduce stomach-related symptoms. In rare cases, metformin can cause a serious side effect called lactic acidosis, particularly in people with severe kidney problems. Warning signs may include unusual weakness, severe tiredness, difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, stomach discomfort, dizziness or feeling unusually cold. Consult your doctor promptly if any side effects are severe, persistent or worsening.
