I had Chikungunya with a 103 degrees Fahrenheit fever and severe joint pain for the last two days. The fever has subsided, but the joint pain is still severe. I am currently taking NYPA, Omnacortil 20 mg, and Allermed-M tablets. Are these medicines appropriate for relieving the joint pain, or should I take a different medication?

For Chikungunya, severe joint pain is common and often persists after the fever subsides. NYPA (typically containing paracetamol/nimesulide) helps manage pain. However, Omnacortil (a steroid) is generally avoided during the early acute phase of Chikungunya unless specifically deemed necessary by your physician, as steroids can interfere with the body's viral clearance. Allermed-M is an antihistamine and will not relieve joint pain. The safest first-line treatment is paracetamol. Once dengue is ruled out, your doctor may suggest NSAIDs for better joint pain relief. Please consult your prescribing doctor immediately to review these medications, especially before stopping Omnacortil, as steroids must be tapered off gradually.
