I have been having severe itching in my groin and upper thigh area for around 6 months. I used Onabet cream, Keto Gold soap, and antifungal tablets, which reduced the problem but did not completely cure it. What can help clear this infection fully?

Severe itching in the groin and upper thighs for many months is commonly caused by fungal infection, especially in warm and sweaty areas. The infection may improve for some time with creams and tablets, but return again because of moisture, tight clothing, sweating, diabetes, incomplete treatment, or repeated use of mixed creams containing steroids. Continuous rubbing and scratching can also make the skin darker and more irritated over time. Treatment usually works better when medicines are combined with proper skin care and hygiene. Antifungal creams such as luliconazole, terbinafine, or clotrimazole are commonly used, and some people may need treatment for a longer duration if the infection keeps returning. Keeping the area dry, changing sweaty clothes quickly, wearing loose cotton underwear, and using separate towels may help prevent recurrence. Properly washing and drying the area after sweating is also important. Repeated use of steroid-containing creams may hide the infection temporarily and make it harder to clear completely. Cracks, pus, pain, swelling, or a rapidly spreading rash may indicate that the infection is becoming more active and may require different medicines or longer treatment.
