Please see a doctor or dentist to have the ulcer examined, especially since it is painful and affecting your ability to eat and speak. Avoid spicy or acidic foods, maintain good oral hygiene, and use a mild antiseptic mouthwash to prevent infection. Your doctor may prescribe a topical numbing gel or medication to help it heal.

You may use an over-the-counter topical antiseptic gel, such as chlorhexidine, to reduce infection, or a pain-relief gel containing lidocaine or benzocaine to ease discomfort and help the ulcer heal. Rinse your mouth with saltwater, avoid spicy or acidic foods, and maintain good oral hygiene.
