During pregnancy, essential daily supplements include Folic Acid (critical in the first trimester to prevent birth defects), Iron, and Calcium. Necessary injections include the Tetanus vaccine, typically administered between weeks 27 and 36 of pregnancy, and the seasonal flu shot. Crucially, the Rubella (MMR) vaccine is a live vaccine and must NOT be taken during pregnancy. If you are not immune, you should receive the Rubella vaccine at least one month before planning a pregnancy, or immediately after giving birth, before leaving the hospital.
