I went through a weight loss program during which I was given Neem supplements, starting eight months after my abortion. After completing the program, I began experiencing joint pain and weakness. An Ayurvedic doctor told me that excessive Neem caused my Pitta to decrease and Vata to increase. Later, an orthopaedic doctor found that the cartilage in my knees had decreased, and I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. I am currently taking glucosamine. Can you please advise how I can manage my condition effectively.
Osteoarthritis is mainly due to cartilage wear and tear, and it is unlikely that Neem alone caused it. Focus on weight management, gentle exercises like physiotherapy, swimming, or cycling, and continue medicines like glucosamine if advised by your doctor. Regular follow-up with an orthopaedic specialist, along with a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, can help slow progression and reduce pain.
