I have been diagnosed with Dengue, but I am unsure about the diagnosis. What tests should I get to confirm it, and what medicines should I take?
To confirm Dengue, get a Dengue NS1 Antigen test if your symptoms started within the last 5 days, or a Dengue IgM/IgG antibody test if it has been more than 5 days. A Complete Blood Count (CBC) is also essential to monitor your platelet levels. There is no specific antiviral cure. Use Paracetamol for fever and pain. Absolutely avoid pain relievers like Ibuprofen, Aspirin, or Naproxen, as they increase bleeding risks. Focus on hydration with water, coconut water, or ORS. Rest well and seek immediate emergency care if you experience severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or any bleeding.
