Breastfeeding mother which cough syrup can I take
Respicure D Syrup contains Chlorpheniramine, Dextromethorphan, and Phenylephrine. It is not generally recommended for breastfeeding mothers unless prescribed by a doctor. Occasional, low-dose use may be acceptable since chlorpheniramine is likely safe in small amounts, but long-term or high-dose use can make the baby drowsy and reduce milk supply. Phenylephrine may further decrease milk production and cause irritability in the infant, whereas dextromethorphan is usually low-risk but not well-studied. Therefore, it should be used during breastfeeding only if your doctor considers it necessary.
