My sister of age 15 has been suffering from vomiting since a week and as detected by the doctor there is an infection in the stomach and been suggested to take rifakem ,but still its not working much as she is still vomiting and having stomach pain and constipation also.
should she still take Rifakem tablets ?
Persistent vomiting for a week despite treatment needs proper re-evaluation. Rifakem (rifaximin) is used for certain intestinal infections. However, if symptoms like vomiting, abdominal pain, and constipation are still present, it may mean the cause is not fully addressed or needs a different approach. She should not stop or continue the medicine on her own. It is important to take her back to the doctor for reassessment, as dehydration, worsening infection, or another condition may need to be ruled out. Seek urgent medical care if she is unable to keep fluids down, has severe pain, fever, or weakness.
