I have been suffering from loose motions for the last three days and have a fever of 102F. I have been taking Nizonide twice a day for the past three and a half days, am currently receiving Ringer's Lactate (RL) IV fluid at 100 ml per hour, and am not taking anything orally. What further medicines or treatment would you advise?

Since your fever of 102F and diarrhoea persist despite 3.5 days of Nizonide, and you are on IV fluids, immediate medical re-evaluation is crucial. I recommend: 1. Stool & Blood Tests: A stool culture and CBC to identify the exact cause (likely bacterial). 2. IV Antipyretics: IV Paracetamol to safely manage your high fever while you are nil-by-mouth. 3. Alternative Antibiotics: Your doctor may replace Nizonide with targeted IV antibiotics (like Ceftriaxone), as Nizonide may not be effective against this infection. 4. Electrolyte Monitoring: Ensure your electrolytes are monitored. Please consult your attending hospital physician immediately to update your treatment plan.
