Salicylix SF 12% (salicylic acid) ointment is not recommended for self-treatment of corns in people with diabetes, because diabetic feet are more prone to reduced sensation, poor circulation, delayed healing, and infection, and even minor skin damage from such products can lead to ulcers; it is safer to have the corn examined and treated by a doctor or podiatrist rather than using over-the-counter corn removal products on your own.
