I have several inflamed pimples and acne marks on my right cheek. What should I do to treat them?

Inflamed pimples and acne marks on the cheek can usually be managed with regular skin care and suitable acne treatment. Wash your face gently twice a day with a mild cleanser and avoid scrubbing or squeezing the pimples, as this can worsen inflammation and leave more marks or scars. For inflamed pimples, treatments containing benzoyl peroxide or adapalene may help reduce acne and prevent new breakouts. Azelaic acid may also help control acne and gradually reduce dark marks left after pimples heal. Start with one treatment at a time to minimise skin irritation. Use a non-comedogenic moisturiser to prevent dryness and apply a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day to prevent acne marks from becoming darker. If the pimples are painful, deep, spreading, leaving scars, or not improving after 6 to 8 weeks, consult a dermatologist for appropriate treatment.
