For the past 3-4 days, I have been experiencing head heaviness, nasal dryness, and difficulty breathing through one nostril (unilateral congestion). Could this head pressure be related to a cough or sinus issue? Please advise on a diagnosis and provide a prescription.
Head heaviness with one-sided nasal blockage and dryness can happen with Sinusitis, allergies, a common cold, or nasal irritation. Sinus congestion can sometimes also trigger cough due to post-nasal drip. Steam inhalation, saline nasal spray, hydration, and avoiding dust or smoke may help reduce dryness and blockage. Since the congestion is mainly on one side, an ENT examination may be needed if symptoms persist, worsen, or are associated with fever, facial swelling, severe headache, or thick nasal discharge. Avoid using nasal decongestant drops continuously without medical advice. A doctor can decide whether you need allergy treatment, nasal sprays, or other medicines after proper evaluation.
