Sompraz IT Capsule (esomeprazole and itopride) may be taken every day when prescribed by a doctor for conditions such as acid reflux, heartburn, or indigestion. However, it should not be used daily for a long period without medical advice. Prolonged use of esomeprazole may lower magnesium levels and increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fractures, and certain gut infections. Long-term use of itopride may occasionally lead to elevated prolactin levels (hyperprolactinaemia), which may cause breast enlargement or milk secretion. If you have been taking Sompraz IT Capsule regularly for several weeks or months, your doctor should review whether you still need it and advise you on the appropriate duration of treatment. Do not stop it suddenly after long-term use without medical advice, as acid-related symptoms may return.
