I have been taking Telmopic AM for blood pressure and Stalopam Plus for anxiety for the past 12 years. If I miss Stalopam Plus even for one day, I develop anxiety, a headache, and feel unwell. I feel dependent on this medicine and unable to stop it. Previously, I was on more medications, but now I am only on these two. What should I do?

Stalopam Plus contains clonazepam and escitalopram, which act on anxiety and mood. If you miss a dose and feel anxiety, headache, or discomfort, it may indicate that your body has become dependent on the clonazepam component, which is known to cause withdrawal symptoms if stopped suddenly after long-term use. Do not stop Stalopam Plus on your own, especially after using it for many years. Sudden stopping can worsen anxiety and cause withdrawal effects. Instead, you should consult your doctor for a planned and gradual dose reduction if stopping is needed. This process should be slow and supervised. Continue taking Telmopic-AM regularly for blood pressure control as prescribed. Along with medicines, counselling, relaxation techniques, regular sleep, and exercise can also help reduce anxiety over time. Please meet your doctor or psychiatrist soon so your treatment can be safely reviewed and adjusted according to your current condition.
