I am in my ninth month of pregnancy and getting stretch marks on my stomach. What safe creams or ointments can I use to treat them?
Stretch marks are very common and completely normal as your body prepares for birth. To safely hydrate your skin and improve elasticity, look for creams containing hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica, cocoa butter, shea butter, or virgin coconut oil. These are safe to use and help relieve itching. Please avoid any products containing retinoids or retinol, as these are not safe during pregnancy. Apply your chosen moisturiser daily, keep well-hydrated, and remember that these marks naturally fade and become much lighter after delivery. Always check with your obstetrician before starting any new topical treatments.
