This sounds like nasal vestibulitis, a localized bacterial infection. Please do not squeeze or pop it, as the veins in this area drain toward the brain, which poses a serious risk of infection. You can gently apply an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment like Bacitracin or mupirocin using a clean cotton swab three times daily, and apply warm compresses to the outside of your nose to reduce swelling. However, because it is obstructing your breathing, you should be evaluated by a doctor. If the pain worsens, or if you develop a fever, chills, or facial swelling, seek immediate medical care as prescription oral antibiotics may be required.
