I have white patches on the inside of my lips and throat, along with a fever and lethargy. I am currently taking Tab Swich 200mg twice daily, an antipyretic twice daily, and a multivitamin once daily. Is this the correct medication combination for my symptoms, and how long should I continue taking them?
Your current regimen includes an antibiotic (cefpodoxime), a fever-reducer, and a multivitamin. While suitable for bacterial infections, the white patches on your lips and throat suggest oral thrush, a common fungal overgrowth often triggered by antibiotic use. Therefore, your current combination may need adjustment. Please do not stop your antibiotic abruptly, as this can worsen infection or cause resistance. Instead, consult your doctor promptly; they may need to prescribe an antifungal medication or modify your treatment plan. Continue the fever-reducer as needed for fever and rest well to combat lethargy.
