I am experiencing continuous bleeding after the removal of my Multiload IUD. What medicine should I take to stop it?
Some light bleeding or spotting is normal for a few days after IUD removal. However, continuous or heavy bleeding is not normal and requires professional medical evaluation. You should not self-medicate. Depending on the underlying cause, a doctor may prescribe medications like Tranexamic Acid to control bleeding, NSAIDs (such as Ibuprofen) to reduce flow, or short-term hormonal therapy. Please consult your gynaecologist immediately to rule out complications like infection, tissue injury, or retained IUD pieces. Seek emergency care if you experience severe pain, fever, or are soaking through more than one pad per hour.
