I have high ocular pressure and currently use Travo Z eye drops in both eyes daily at night. Given my father's history of glaucoma, is this the right medicine for me, or do I need to take any additional medications?
Travo Z (Travoprost) is an excellent, first-line medication for lowering ocular pressure and is highly appropriate given your family history of glaucoma. It works efficiently when taken once daily at night. Currently, you do not need additional medications if your eye pressure is well-controlled and there is no sign of optic nerve damage. However, glaucoma management is highly individualized. You must visit your ophthalmologist regularly for pressure checks, optic nerve scans, and visual field tests. Only your doctor can determine if Travo Z alone is sufficient or if adjustments are needed based on your ongoing eye health.
