Travo Z (Travoprost) is an excellent, first-line medication for lowering ocular pressure and is highly appropriate given your family history of glaucoma. It works efficiently when taken once daily at night. Currently, you do not need additional medications if your eye pressure is well-controlled and there is no sign of optic nerve damage. However, glaucoma management is highly individualized. You must visit your ophthalmologist regularly for pressure checks, optic nerve scans, and visual field tests. Only your doctor can determine if Travo Z alone is sufficient or if adjustments are needed based on your ongoing eye health.

Both Brinzox and Travo-Z are eye drops designed to lower the pressure inside your eyes. Even if you do not have glaucoma, your doctor likely detected elevated eye pressure, a condition known as ocular hypertension. Much like taking medication for high blood pressure to prevent a heart attack, lowering your eye pressure is a preventive measure. If left untreated, high pressure can eventually damage your optic nerve and lead to glaucoma. These medications are being prescribed proactively to protect your optic nerve and preserve your vision.
