Your prescribed medications are highly appropriate for your recovery. Cefixime (an antibiotic) prevents or treats secondary infections, trypsin-chymotrypsin reduces pain and swelling, and heparin-based ointment helps resolve bruising and improve local blood flow. Some pain and swelling are normal 10 days after a blunt injury as tissues heal. Nerve damage or long-term complications are rare. However, if you experience numbness or tingling sensations, or if the swelling worsens, please contact your doctor for an evaluation to rule out deep tissue or nerve involvement. For now, continue your treatment, rest, and keep your leg elevated.
