Can I consume 60 ml of alcohol once or twice a month while taking Veltam Plus Tablet?
You may consume about 60 ml of alcohol once or twice a month while taking Veltam Plus Tablet (which contains Tamsulosin and Dutasteride for benign prostatic hyperplasia), as occasional small amounts are generally safe. However, Tamsulosin can lower blood pressure, and alcohol can enhance this effect, possibly causing dizziness, light-headedness, or fainting, especially when standing up suddenly. To minimise risk, limit alcohol intake, keep a 4–6 hour gap between alcohol and your dose, and avoid driving or operating machinery afterwards. If you experience dizziness or low blood pressure, it’s best to avoid alcohol altogether. Regular or heavy drinking should be avoided, as it can worsen urinary symptoms and reduce the effectiveness of BPH treatment.
