It is understandable to feel concerned when your baby's cough persists. The prescribed medications?which include bronchodilators, oral steroids, and anti-inflammatory drugs?primarily target airway spasms and swelling. If there is no improvement, the cough might be due to a viral infection (like bronchiolitis) which doesn't respond to these medications and needs time to resolve, or another cause like a bacterial infection. Please consult your pediatrician for a physical reassessment so they can listen to your baby's lungs again. Keep your baby well-hydrated, and seek immediate medical care if you notice signs of breathing distress, such as rapid breathing, chest retractions, or feeding difficulties.
