I am having hearing loss in my right ear along with dizziness and a light feeling in my head. What could be causing this problem, and what treatment may help?
Hearing loss in one ear, along with dizziness and a light or floating feeling in the head, can be caused by inner ear problems, ear infections, earwax blockage, nerve-related conditions, low blood pressure, viral illness, or balance disorders affecting the ear. Sometimes the inner ear is suddenly disturbed, which can affect both hearing and balance at the same time. The exact cause often becomes clearer if there is a ringing sound, ear fullness, nausea, vomiting, or recent cold symptoms along with it. Avoid inserting earbuds, oil, or sharp objects into the ear because they can worsen irritation or dizziness. Sudden head movements, poor sleep, dehydration, and stress may also make the spinning or lightheaded feeling worse in some people. Resting, staying hydrated, and avoiding loud noise may temporarily reduce discomfort. Medicines for dizziness or ear-related problems should be taken only after proper medical advice, as treatment depends on the underlying cause. Inform a doctor if you experience sudden hearing loss, dizziness, or vomiting, or if the symptoms continue to worsen.
