I have a lot of dry ear wax which causes itching inside my ear, what ear drops or medicine should I use?
To safely soften dry earwax and relieve itching, you can use over-the-counter ear drops containing carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide. Alternatively, putting two to three drops of plain olive oil or mineral oil into the ear canal twice daily for a few days can gently soften the wax so it drains naturally. Please avoid using cotton swabs, keys, or any sharp objects, as these can push the wax deeper and irritate the ear. If the itching persists, or if you experience pain, fullness, or decreased hearing, please consult a healthcare professional for a safe, in-person ear evaluation.
