I had acute watery diarrhea, about 10 episodes in one day. My doctor prescribed Zanoncin OZ, 10 tablets over 5 days (2 tablets per day). I sometimes missed doses or took them at night. After 2–3 days, I stopped the medication early because I felt better and was busy with work. I still have 4 tablets left (enough for 2 days). Currently, I have no diarrhea or loose stools. Should I take the remaining tablets to complete the course, or can I leave them?
Since you are now symptom-free, it is generally not necessary to complete the leftover course of Zanoncin OZ, especially if it contains an antibiotic component, because your diarrhea has resolved. Continuing unnecessary medication could increase the risk of side effects. However, if the diarrhea returns, consult your doctor before resuming treatment. Always follow your doctor’s advice for future courses, and try to complete the full prescribed course unless advised otherwise.
