Yes, cefixime is a highly effective, broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is sufficient to treat the underlying bacterial infection causing the high leukocyte count. Once the infection is treated, the count will naturally return to normal. Regarding gallbladder stones, they are rare in infants and often resolve on their own without treatment. If medical therapy is required, a medication called ursodeoxycholic acid may be prescribed to help dissolve the stones.
