You cannot contract HIV this way. HIV is not airborne and cannot travel through the air or close proximity. For transmission to occur, there must be direct contact between infected blood or body fluids and an open, uncovered wound or mucous membrane. Since you had no physical contact and your own wound was safely covered, there was absolutely no risk of exposure. You are completely safe, and you do not need to worry.
