Could my medication, Altraday (which I am taking with Myoril for a torn calf muscle), be the cause of the severe swelling and extreme pain in my foot and leg when I stand, or is this worsening pain due to walking with a limp and further injuring my calf?
While Altraday (aceclofenac) can sometimes cause mild fluid retention, and limping can certainly strain your leg further, these severe symptoms when standing warrant prompt medical attention. Following a leg injury, reduced mobility can sometimes lead to a blood clot, known as deep vein thrombosis, or worsening muscle strain. Please contact your doctor or visit an urgent care center right away for an evaluation, which may include an ultrasound, to safely identify the cause. In the meantime, please rest and keep your leg elevated.
