Is it safe for my mother, who has asthma, chronic skin allergies (hives), and long-term stomach issues, to receive the second dose of the Covishield vaccine while taking Combihale FB 400 Redicaps (Formoterol Fumarate and budesonide), Fexast Plus (Fexofenadine and montelukast), Amalgard LSR (Rabeprazole and Levosulpiride), Acebrobid SR (Acebrophylline), Amifru 40 (Furosemide and Amiloride), Thyrox-50 (Thyroxine sodium), and her annual flu vaccine?
It is generally very safe and highly recommended for your mother to get her second Covishield dose. Her medications, including formoterol/budesonide (Combihale FB), fexofenadine/montelukast (Fexast Plus), and thyroxine (Thyrox-50), do not interfere with the vaccine. Please ensure she continues all her daily medicines as prescribed to keep her asthma and other conditions stable. For the annual flu vaccine, we recommend spacing it about 14 days apart from her COVID-19 vaccine to easily track any mild side effects. A quick check-in with her doctor before the appointment is always a great step to ensure she is feeling her best on vaccination day.
