My 2D Echo report shows Grade 1 left ventricular diastolic dysfunction. I have been prescribed Amtas-AT for blood pressure, and currently, my BP is normal while taking this medication. Is there any risk or problem I should be concerned about with this condition or treatment?
Grade 1 left ventricular diastolic dysfunction is usually a mild and early change in heart relaxation, and many people live normally with it, especially if blood pressure is well controlled. Since your BP is normal on Amtas-AT, that is a good sign. The main focus should be strict BP control, a low-salt diet, regular exercise (as advised), weight control, and regular follow-ups with your doctor. With proper management, the risk of complications can be minimised.
