I have a sore throat with ear pain, mildly inflamed tonsils, and body aches. What could be causing this, and what should I do?
You may have a viral throat infection or tonsillitis. You should rest, stay well hydrated, and take over-the-counter painkillers such as paracetamol to relieve pain and body aches. Gargling with warm salt water or using an antiseptic mouthwash may help soothe throat irritation. If your symptoms worsen, persist for more than a few days, or you develop difficulty swallowing or a high fever, seek medical attention promptly.
