I am on my holiday in Vietnam. I am having stomach growling and loose motions and a bit headache im drinking ors.
I have taken probiotic and one capsule immodium. Should I continue to take immodium or just rely on probiotic?
You should focus mainly on staying well hydrated with ORS or safe fluids, as this is the most important part of managing traveller's diarrhoea. You can take Imodium again if the diarrhoea is uncomfortable, but only as directed, and avoid it if you have fever, blood in the stool, or severe abdominal pain, because in those cases it can be harmful. Probiotics are safe and can help restore gut bacteria, but they won't stop diarrhoea immediately. Stick to light, bland foods and rest, and monitor for warning signs such as persistent diarrhoea for 3 days or more, high fever, blood in stool, or dehydration, in which case you should see a doctor promptly.
