Difference between atrovastatin and rosuvastatin
Atorvastatin and rosuvastatin are both statins used to lower “bad” cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Rosuvastatin is stronger, so smaller doses can lower cholesterol more effectively and may be less likely to cause muscle problems. Atorvastatin is also effective but may interact with more medications. Both can raise “good” cholesterol and lower triglycerides. The choice depends on the amount of cholesterol-lowering needed and individual tolerance, and a doctor determines which is best for each patient.
