I recently became unconscious at my office and later regained consciousness in the hospital. The doctor told me that it could have been due to a hypertensive crisis, cardiac arrest, or stroke. I have been prescribed Telma 20 mg once daily. My current blood pressure is around 150-160, sometimes reaching 180. Can I take Himalaya Serpina tablet (one tablet twice daily) to help control my blood pressure?

Losing consciousness can be caused by serious conditions such as hypertensive crisis, cardiac arrest, or stroke, all of which require urgent medical attention.
Blood pressure readings around 150-160, reaching 180, indicate poorly controlled hypertension, increasing risks for such serious events. Proper management is crucial to avoid complications like hypertensive crisis or stroke.
Himalaya Serpina is an Ayurvedic product containing Rauwolfia (Sarpagandha) that may lower blood pressure and reduce anxiety. However, combining it with Telmisartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker) without medical supervision can cause unwanted interactions or excessive blood pressure lowering.
Do not start Himalaya Serpina on your own. It is important to consult your cardiologist or hypertension specialist to evaluate your current treatment, consider adjustments, and safely discuss any add-on therapies. Immediate medical attention is advised if you experience fainting again or if blood pressure remains very high.
For emergencies like loss of consciousness or chest pain, call emergency services urgently.
