Lopox tablet contains Loperamide, which is commonly used to treat acute diarrhoea. It works by slowing down bowel movements, helping stools become less frequent and more formed. In most adults, it is considered safe for short-term use when taken at the correct dose, as advised on the pack or by your doctor. However, it is important to understand that loperamide does not treat the cause of diarrhoea, such as infection. It should not be used if you have a high fever, blood or mucus in stools, or suspected food poisoning, as it may worsen certain infections by slowing the clearance of germs from the intestine. It should also be avoided in severe dehydration without medical advice. Common side effects may include constipation, stomach pain, or dizziness.
