I have been taking telma 40 for the last 2 years for high blood pressure. Normally my BP comes 150/90 with this medicine. Not experiencing any chest pain, headache etc not any shortness of breath. During routine checkup doctor has now prescribed s-numlo 2.5 mg at night for 3 months along with telma 40. I am in dellema whether to start it,as it has many side effects. Please guide
Your doctor added S-Numlo 2.5 mg because your blood pressure is still around 150 over 90 on Telma 40, which means it is not fully controlled. Adding a low dose second medicine is a common and appropriate step to bring blood pressure to a safer level and reduce long term risks like heart attack and stroke. The 2.5 mg dose is low, most people tolerate it well, and side effects are usually mild. In most cases, the benefit of better blood pressure control is greater than the risk of side effects.
