I have been taking Nexito 20 mg and Lonazep 0.5 mg for OCD for the past 8 months and I am feeling better now. Should I reduce my dosage, and if so, what is the correct way to safely taper these medications?

It is good that your OCD symptoms have improved, but medicines like Nexito and Lonazep should not be reduced or stopped suddenly without medical supervision because symptoms may return or withdrawal effects can occur. Usually, doctors taper these medicines slowly over weeks or months, depending on how stable your condition is, how long you have been taking them, and whether you still have anxiety or obsessive thoughts. Lonazep is especially important to reduce gradually because sudden stopping may cause anxiety, sleep problems, or restlessness. Continue regular follow-up with your psychiatrist so they can safely adjust the dose step by step while monitoring for relapse. Lifestyle measures such as good sleep, stress control, exercise, and therapy can also help maintain improvement during tapering.
