Your mother should continue to use the Ocupol-DX eye drops only in her affected left eye, as prescribed by her ophthalmologist. Do not use them in her healthy right eye. Ocupol-DX contains antibiotics and a steroid; applying it to an unaffected eye is unnecessary and can cause adverse side effects. To prevent spreading any potential infection to her right eye, ensure she washes her hands before and after applying the drops, avoids touching the dropper tip to her eye, and uses a clean, separate towel. If her right eye begins to show any symptoms, consult her eye doctor immediately before starting treatment in that eye.
