I have had a fever for the past 36 hours, it was 102 at first, and I took paracetamol 500, now it is around 100. What should I do next, and is this normal?

A fever starting at 102 degrees Fahrenheit and coming down to around 100 degrees Fahrenheit after paracetamol is quite common, especially in viral infections like flu or a simple viral fever. It shows that your body is responding and the medicine is helping control the temperature, even if it has not gone away completely yet. Paracetamol can be continued only as advised by your doctor, usually when the fever is uncomfortable or above a certain level. It mainly gives relief but does not treat the underlying cause, so a mild fever may still persist for a couple of days. For now, take proper rest, drink plenty of fluids, and eat light food. Keep monitoring your temperature and avoid overexertion. Most viral fevers improve within 2?3 days. If the fever continues beyond this, becomes very high again, or you develop symptoms like severe headache, vomiting, rash, or weakness, it is important to consult a doctor for further evaluation.
